The Largest Pumpkin Carving in the Gulf South, Oct. 21
- About: Get your costume on, gather your “boo-krewe” and head to Keg and Barrel for this family-fun event! There will be carving kits available, but they will be shared among the competitors. So, feel free to bring your own. Carving starts at 5:30 p.m. followed by judging at 7 p.m. Categories include 11 and Younger, 12 and Older, and Professional (as in you brought a power tool).

Zoo Boo, Oct. 22-30
- About: Kids! Put on your costumes and go wild at the annual Zoo Boo Halloween Party nightly from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hattiesburg Zoo. Admission gets you rides on both the Spook-tacular Express and Carou-Spell. There’s a Monster Mash Dance Party, ghoulish games and so much more!

The Paper Warehouse Haunted Attraction, Oct. 22-24
- About: Empty for years, what was once the area’s bustling regional newspaper—Hub City Ledger—is now desolate…and supposedly haunted! About 60 years ago an accident left dozens of employees and visitors dead. Was it an accidental chemical fire or something sinister? This is one of the Halloween-themed events in Hattiesburg not recommended for younger children.

Glow in the Dark Zombie Hunt, Oct. 22-24 and Oct. 29-30
- About: Get pumped up at Eagle Action Sportz! Pay $15 for 800 glow-in-the-dark gellyballs to defeat the zombies from 7 to 9 p.m.

Dearly Departed Walking Tour, Oct. 23
- About: One night only, walk among the dead as they come to life once again to share Hattiesburg history. Costumes are encouraged for a spooky night at Oaklawn Cemetery from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tours take place on the half hour. Masks required.

Hattiesburg Halloween Parade, Oct. 28
- About: Halloween is back on Hardy Street in the Avenues! Join Hattiesburg Avenues and let the ghoul times roll from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church. The parade route ends at S. 13th, but the party continues at Keg and Barrel.

Halloween Silent Movie, Oct. 31
- About: Come to Marsh Auditorium for a double feature of old comedy films, “Habeas Corpus” and “The Bell Boy.” See these silent movies like never before as they play out to the haunting sounds of the Holtkamp pipe organ. Played by University of Southern Mississippi School of Music faculty member Douglas Rust at both a 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. showing.
