What to Know

Have you been to the zoo lately and seen a couple of the more recent arrivals? Sue Ellen and Alberta are two giraffes that have been calling the zoo home since May.

Now, visitors can get up close and personal with them during giraffe feeding at the Hattiesburg Zoo. The all-new experience officially opened to the public November 2nd!

Are you wondering what Sue Ellen and Alberta like to eat? It’s healthy things like carrots and lettuce! Additionally, the hands-on feeding experience includes learning fun facts about giraffes from the zookeeper.

Overall, the African exhibits at the zoo have seen several exciting additions. Besides the giraffes, there are now two hyenas and two Colobus monkeys. For a sneak peek of all the African animals, click here.

Plus, there is Ladha’s Cantina & Overlook serving African-themed food and drinks. There is also a large pavilion in the area with seating for events.

Feeding Time

When it comes to giraffe feeding at the Hattiesburg Zoo, you must be prompt! Feeding time happens daily at 2 p.m. sharp.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased in person at the market at the pavilion. They can also be purchased as soon as the zoo opens at 10 a.m.

Tickets are first come, first serve. Consider buying them early since there are only 15 available each day!

Location and Hours

Head to the Hattiesburg Zoo located at 107 South 17th Ave. for giraffe feeding and much more. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
