Did you know First Saturday in Downtown Hattiesburg celebrated a milestone last month? This community favorite officially hit its first anniversary on September 3rd!
What began as a way to bump up traffic to downtown businesses quickly became a fun add-on event for many local businesses. From block parties to street markets to food trucks to live music, there is something for everyone downtown on the First Saturday!
Each month, there are new events, new exhibits and more along with extended hours, sales and specials at local shops and restaurants.
October’s First Saturday events
Check out the agenda for the October 1st First Saturday in Downtown Hattiesburg below. Several fun things kick off as early as 9 a.m.
- Southbound: Open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Anderson Downtown: Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Blooms Company: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Lucky Rabbit: Outdoor Street Market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Author Shoppe: Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- fivetwentyfive: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- The Porter: Oktoberfest Celebration all day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Southern Prohibition: Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Fairley’s Wings & More: 2nd Annual Taste of the South Food Truck Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and open until 10 p.m.
- Hattiesburg Pocket Museum & Theater: October’s New Exhibit
- Oddfellows Gallery: Antiques & Collectables Sales Event – Gallery open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Hattiesburgers & Blues: Live music at 11 a.m., open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Nellie’s: $5 Traditional 16 oz. daiquiris/ $6 premium 16 oz. daiquiris – 11 a.m. to close
- Smith Drug Company: Open for guests to tour the newly-renovated historic building. T-shirts, malts, and milkshakes will be available for purchase from noon to 4 p.m. Read our past blog on Smith Drug Company!
- Sage Den: Doors open at noon. Pop-up concert with Holley Rumbarger from 2 to 3 p.m.
- Alley Cats Axe Throwing: Open at noon with 20 percent off until 6 p.m.
- Blu Jazz Cafe: Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Downtown Grill & Grocery: Open 8 p.m. until with live music
